I received an MS in Agro-Micrometeorology and Modeling from Mississippi State University in 1992 and a PhD in Applied Meteorology from Purdue University in 1997. As a postdoctoral fellow, I worked in the Environmental and Societal Impacts Group at National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) during 1997-1999. Then I joined the USDA UV-B Monitoring and Research Program in 1999. I am currently a senior research scientist and the director of the program. I am also a joint professor with the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Colorado State University. I am a fellow of the International Society of Optical Engineering (SPIE). My main professional interests are in UV radiation and modeling, remote sensing application in ecosystems, regional climate/ecosystem modeling, the effects of UV radiation and other climate stress factors on agriculture and ecosystems, total ozone interactions with other atmospheric parameters, and impacts of climate change. I have published more than 90 academic papers and edited/coedited 16 academic books, conference proceedings, and journal special issues.
